Route "Madona-Lazdona-Marciena-Sauleskalns-Madona"

Description: The rout offers to get to know the town of Madona, its picturesque surroundings, historical testimonies and the farming traditions of the local population. The route is unique in that it crosses two nature reserves: Krustkalni nature reserve and Vestiena protected landscapes. The 1.5 km of the route through Krustkalni nature reserve can be gone without visitor’s authorization.
Take not that the route is a hilly terrain!

Route "Gaiziņš hills"

*Road surface: asphalt, 6 km, 11 km gravel, 7 km mud roads.

Description: chosing this route you willl enjoy the hilly scenery of Vidzeme central highlands, have a look at the surroundings of the Latvian highest mountain - Gaiziņkalns and enjoy the scenic view of Lakes Viešūra and Kala. Do not worry about the hilly road, each uphill stage is followed by a pleasant rolling down! The route is very picturesque because it goes through Vestiena Protected Landscapes and Gaiziņkalns Nature Park.

Route ''Around Lake Lubans''
*Distance: 56 km.

Description: The route is unique in that it leads around the largest Latvian lake (14 km long, 9 km wide) located in Lubāns wetland. Although the terrain of the route is flat the travelling is not boring, because cycling can be connected with bathing in the seaside-like beach on the northern coast, fishing, tasting fish prepared by local fishermen and getting to know the unique wetland of Lubāns. During the journey you can also watch birds and have a look at the surrounding countryside from the six observation towers, learn about the unique system of canals, dams and locks and listen to the local guide telling about the historical evidences from the Stone Age.
