HISTORY:
The church was built probably at the same time as the Bērzaunes Castle, i.e. in 1340. In 1594, the headstone of Johann von Tuzenhaus, the landlord of the Berzaunes Manor, and his wife Anna Kursell was immured in the floor of the Church, which is a national artistic monument. The oldest part of the Church is one of the few Gothic architectural monuments in Latvia. The Church was destroyed during an artillery bombardment in 1944. On 15 February, 2009, a consecration of the restored Church took place.
