Missionof the State Employment Agency: To become a bridge connecting employer and employee, reducing unemployment.

Establishment` s purpose of the State Employment Agency: realize the country` s policy in reduction of unemployment and in the support for unemployed persons and persons seeking job.

State Employment Agency is under the supervision of the Ministry of Welfare and administrative structure of provided services is formed of SEA department, 27 branches, 6 client service centers and 25 sections throughout Latvia. In Madona district SEA` s branch is located in Upes street 3, Madona.

 

The branch has three sections:

Hours of attendance in Madona branch - every working day from 9:00 to 15:00 with lunch-hour from 12:30 to 13:00.

 

Hours of attendance in Ergli section:

     - every Thursday and Friday from 9:00 to 12:30 and from 13:00 to 15:00;

     - every third Thursday of the month: unemployed reception in Sausneja parish. 

 

Hours of attendance in Lubana:

     - from Mondays to Thursdays from 9:00 to 12:30 and from 13:00 to 15:00;

     - every third Friday of the month: unemployed reception in Osupe parish.

 

Hours of attendance in Varaklani:

     - from Monday to Thursday from 9:00 to 12:30 and from 13:00 to 15:00;

     - every last Thursday of the month: unemployed reception in Murmastiene parish.

 

SEA Madona branch rendered services:

  • registers and counts unemployed people and persons seeking employment;
  • registers and counts vacant workplaces;
  • organizes and realizes the active measures of employment;
  • organizes cooperation and an exchange of information between SEA and employer;
  • informs unemployed persons and persons seeking employment about their rights and obligations;
  • collaborates in development of cooperation` s projects as well as in their realization, and in reduction of unemployment;
  • cooperates with government administrative institutions, local governments, individuals and juridical entities and also with civic organizations.

 

For unemployed:

  • organizes vocational training, requalification and advancement of qualification;
  • organizes supporting and motivating measures to increase their competitiveness;
  • int.al. modular training;
  • consults on the subject of occupational suitability, requalification and choice of profession;
  • organizes measures for certain groops of people, int.al. for youth, permanent unemployed people, pre-retirement age persons, for persons after leave for child care etc.;
  • organizes paid temporary works;
  • informs for free about vacant workplaces;
  • consults for free about the possibilities to work abroad (EURES).

 

For persons seeking employment:

  • organizes supporting and motivating measures to increase their competitiveness, int.al, modular training;
  • informs for free about vacant workplaces as well as unemployed and persons seeking employment rights and obligations;
  •  consults for free about the possibilities to work abroad (EURES).

 

For employers:

  • registers vacancies and finds the most appropriate employees;
  • qualifies unemployed people on request by employer;
  • offers a chance for unemployed to take part in selection for professional training groups, examinations;
  • offers to participate in realization of temporary work and in provision of subsidized work places;
  • offers youth to participate in employment measures during summer holidays;
  • organizes a dialogue and work interviews between employer and unemployed persons;
  • EURES - an information exchange network to facilitate the mobility of workers within the countries of the European Union (EU).
