Madona Evangelical Lutheran parish` s church of Lazdona was built in 1802 – 1805, sanctified in 19 August 1806. In order not to celebrate the anniversary five times, the year 1804 is chosen as the middle building year, before the removal it was readable in the tower` s weathercock.

Construction works in Lazdona Orthodox church happened nearly 140 years ago. The Lutheran and the Orthodox churches are in the list of national protected culture objects. Both parishes are connected also historically – in 1847 the Lazdona orthodox parish was founded, the time when nearly one and a half thousand of people changed their faith to orthodox. The first priest was Davis Balodis from Laudona but already during that year in Lazdona parish served two more priests – V.Mutovozow and V.Lebedev.
