Madona Business inovation and information centre(Madona BIIC) was founded in 1998. Initially as non-profit organization which was founded within the ES PHARE small and medium enterprises` support programme in Latvia. Since November 2004 the Madona BIIC is association and its members are the Madona district council, local governments of the district, enterprises and physical persons.
The aim of the centre is to promote the social and economic development of the Madona district:
- To form an enabling environment for the business activities;
- To promote society` s economic activity;
- To facilitate the exchange of information between the district` s entrepreneurs and local governments;
- To organize for the entrepreneurs, employees of the local governments and inhabitants educating training courses and seminars.
The member of the board of Madona BIIC is Dace Āriņa.
The services of the Madona BIIC:
- business consultations;
- the output of business plans;
- the introduction of projects;
- the administration of projects;
- the organization and administration of seminars and training.
Major projects:
- Capacity` s raising of the Madona district` s NGO and local government: from the idea till the pilot project ESF (2006);
- Training courses for the Madona district` s permanent unemployed The formation of self-assurance and integration in the labour market ESF (2005/2006);
- The trilateral social dialog` s promotion in Madona district The Northern Council of ministers (2005);
- The consolidation of the role of NGO in Madona district The embassy of Netherlands (2003);
- The creation of support` s net in regions of Latvia for the promotion of the innovative entrepreneurship in electronics` and IT spheres (REG ELIN- LAT) partner in Vidzeme ES 5. frame program (2001/2002);
- The strenghtening of connection between the local governments, entrepreneurs, different social classes, organisations and inhabitants BAPP (2002).
The centre coordinates the work of entrepreneur union in Madona district which was in year 2000 established under the guidance of Madona BIIC and with the support of Madona district` s council.
